The Great Jack O' Lantern Blaze

Halloween is my favorite holiday, the candy + costume combination is genius, but the spooky nature of the event is the glaze on the candied apple. I was chatting with one of the Security Personnel (Jim) here at 77 Water Street and he mentioned a spectacular event called The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze.

"DON’T MISS the 5th anniversary of the Hudson Valley’s biggest, most exciting, most electrifying Halloween event, featuring more than 4,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated jack o’ lanterns! Meander through an 18th-century riverside landscape and discover a breathtaking display: snakes, a giant spider web, an undersea aquarium, super-sized dinosaurs, pirates, ghosts, even a colossal Pumpkinhenge…all made of jack o’ lanterns! NEW THIS YEAR: A buzzing beehive, a huge spinning UFO, shiny, happy sunflowers, and a replica of Henry Hudson’s Half Moon!"

At 15.00 for adults and 10.00 for kids, it's a bit pricey, but I may have to dig deep, just for the spooky spectacle.
